1:17 PM OFFICE MEMO Time: Subject: Cornell-Union Date: Just for the record, part of the Cornell pep band WAS at the Cornell-Union game at Union. I know, because I was sitting in the midst of them! There were roughly 10-20 band members, who were talking about how annoying it was that they wouldn't be allowed to play the next night at RPI. Other than that, I agree 100% with what Greg wrote about the Cornell fans being fairly subdued. If the Union fans/players thought we were bad at Union, they should have seen us the next night at RPI (in a close, one-goal game)! Before the game even started, one of the ushers there was quite upset that a) we yelled "RED" during the star-spangled banner and b) that we brought our newspaper tradition on the road with us. There seems to be a strong sentiment on the network about being well behaved in other people's rinks. I must admit that when I go to an away Cornell game, I feel like it's my obligation to be even louder than I am in Lynah, because there are fewer of us! I don't buy the "we're guests, so we should behave like guests" theory. If I were a guest in someone's living room that would be one thing, but this is hockey! Just my two cents!
