Thanks to a reminder from "Chesapeake" Jim, I have finally remembered to let you all know what has happened in the TCHCR/ATU hullabaloo. The week of the article (was that 2 weeks ago already?), I called the Albany-Times Union several times, but Bob was never around. So that Sunday (1/12) I faxed him a letter. I limited myself to just 1 page and my wife edited it so I didn't sound like a raving lunatic. I thanked him for the publicity, but I told him I was disappointed in his erroneous reporting, especially because he never called to check his facts. My main points about his article were: o I didn't like his overstatement of the RPI players' reactions. o His comparisons to the ATU poll were not relevant. o His "strength of conference" was completely false. o I needed 4 sub-topics to straighten him out on Maine's drop. I told him I would welcome an article correcting his mistakes, but I did not demand a fix. Yes, I was pretty easy on the guy. Since I couldn't talk to him in person, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he really is a nice man. I tried to educate him about TCHCR, and, when possible, I did not attack his character. I encouraged him to call me for more information about TCHCR and I even included the 1/11 TCHCR "to help you gain an understanding of how it works." Since then, I have heard nothing. Bob hasn't called me, nor have I seen anything on HOCKEY-L from the Times-Union. I will try to call Bob again because I still want to speak with him. I hope I don't have to resort to calling the Union pressbox at 7:30 this Saturday night. (^; Keith
