Just when you thought the puck thread was over... RPI fan as I am, I must say that there is one practice of theirs which, IMHO, is rather stupid. Why does Tim Carvel, or any other benched goalie for that matter, hang his unprotected head out over the door into the rink? All it takes is a puck slap shot or a loose stick during a check in the boards, and an RPI goalie is out of commissionfor a few weeks. If he wants to stand like that, he should wear a mask, otherwise keep back. The same goes for Anthony Ortolano, the trainer. He's in the line of fire himself. He should stand with the coaching staff behind the bench for his own safety, and lessen the risk somewhat of being knocked silly by players and/or pucks. -Richard E Vehlow RPI '91 '93 [log in to unmask]
