Why apologize on flaming to get the facts straight, when it was in response to another post that was indeed erroneous. Although not a member of the band, and was unfortunately not at the game, I must say that I do know a lot of Pep Band members, and that the RPI pep band, although justifiably obnoxious, are not rule-breakers. The lone pep band member thrown out should not have been- he was probably defending himself. I can be veeeeeerrrry obnoxious myself, as anyone who was at the 1990 ECAC Quarterfinal game #2 vs. Brown in RPI's Field house would remember, if they saw me. Obnoxious is OK, but once physical contact is made, as Brown fans did to destroy a banner I had, it becomes war. If the shirtless masked fan at Union had started pushing me around, assum I had been there, he would have problems. On to the oranges, badgers, etc. Last year at an RPI game, hundreds of souvenier megaphones cascaded onto the ice after RPI scored an insurance goal vs. Brown with 4 seconds left. Coach gaudet simply pulled his team from the rink---and the game. I was not supportive of what the fans did there either. -Richard E vehlow [log in to unmask]
