From the Star Tribune this morning: Northern Michigan, which moved into the WCHA lead with it's sweep of the Gophers, left the Twin Cities (yesterday) for the Nissan Classic tournament in Anchorage, Alaska. Freshman goaltender Corwin Saurdiff, who was named WCHA player of the week for making 84 saves as the Wildcats were outshot 92-46, did not accompany them. He is headed for Germany, where he will play for the U.S. team in the World Junior tournament. While coach Woog recently achieved his 200th coaching victory, Northern Michigan coach Rick Comley earned his 400th on Sunday. Bowling Green coach Jerry York will be looking for his 300th victory with the Falcons during the Mariucci Classic. Carol U of M GO Gophers!!!
