For Clarification, the Union Hockey team has been skating since the first of October, but OFFICIAL practice did not begin until October 15th. The ice was set and they have been having Captains' practices until Coach Delventhal officially opened prctice on the 15th. Anyway, it took the players these early two weeks just to get their skating legs back, so that when official practice began, the whole team would be up to speed, and time would not have to be taken out of practice for "winded players". The mood of the varsity squad is extremely upbeat. Having talked to a majority of team members in the last few weeks(At a school of under 2000 undergraduates, the big sport atheletes are accessible, in fact, good friends of mine), they are ready to go, and they like their chances as well. Our first game is, as you all know, against Merrimack on November 1st. We beat them two years ago, so it should be a good opening \ game. Well, that's my 2 cents. Beef. [log in to unmask]
