I just wanted to try to clarify something I talked about in my followup to Mike's message, in case some people were confused. The list of games that the NCAA counts towards a team's 34-game limit, and the list of games the NCAA Selection Committee considers in determining who makes the DivI tourney, are completely separate and do NOT have to be the same. Thus, for example, when Northeastern goes to Ottawa this upcoming season, those games will likely both be counted towards the limit, but they will not be looked at by the committee. I say "likely" because there is also another rule allowing teams to play one game against a team from outside the US and not count that game in their "NCAA" record. Northeastern could declare ahead of time that one of the two Ottawa games was going to be an EXH and schedule one more game against somebody else. I don't think games against Olympic Teams will ever be counted towards anything. I'm also not too clear on the rule I just mentioned because I've only heard of it a few times, most notably when MSU played a Canadian team in the Freeze-Out a couple years back and counted it as an EXH. Since then I haven't been able to find a clear definition of the rule. - mike
