Well, let's start with the three series that were decided tonight: (HOME team in CAPS): BOSTON UNIV. 8, Michigan 1 (BU wins 2-0) MAINE 5, Minnesota 3 (Maine wins 2-0) NORTHERN MICHIGAN 5, Alaska-Anchorage 3 (N. Mich. wins 2-0) So, it'll be Maine vs. Northern Michigan in one semifinal, while the other will be BU against the winner of Clarkson/LSSU. Obviously, you now know that Clarkson lost. Here's the gory details. LSSU 6, Clarkson 2 Things started off well for the Knights, as Mike Casselman scored just 11 seconds into the game. LSSU tied it up at 2:58, and the first period ended 1-1. LSSU scored the only two goals of the second, at 1:50 and 7:14, both on the power play. The Golden Knights pulled Jason Currie for sophomore Chris Rogles, but this goalie change was not as effective as it was last night. Rogles did keep LSSU scoreless for the rest of the second, and the Knights failed to score on a late power play in the period, as the Lakers took a 3-1 lead into the locker room. It looked like Clarkson might turn things around in the third, as Dave Trombley scored on the power play at 5:01. Then, the Knights self-destructed, as LSSU scored at 9:40, 14:12, and 18:13, to win 6-2. So, once again, the two teams will face each other, tomorrow at 7:30 PM EST, to decided the fourth and final participant in the important Final Four (as opposed to that other NCAA Tournament). As a totally irrelevant side note, even if this were total goals, there'd still be a game tomorrow night (9-9 in terms of total goals)... Jeremy Hall Clarkson University "LET'S GO TECH!!!! DROWN THE LAKERS!! KICK BUTT!!! DON'T F*** UP!!!!" P.S. As if I didn't torture myself enough, I watched UNLV defeat Seton Hall 77-65 in that other tournament (groan).
