This little excerpt appeared in the March 22 edition of the Watertown Daily Times. It's a response by Mark Morris (head coach of Clarkson) to some of the comments that Wisconsin coach Jeff Sauer after seeing his team swept by the Golden Knights last weekend (reprinted without permission): "'He didn't give us much credit, huh?' Morris said this week. 'But it should prove to be a great motivator because remember the last time he made similar comments about a school in the north country, he was dead wrong.'" Of course, Morris is referring to the 1987-88 St. Lawrence Skating Saints, who defeated Wisconsin 10-4 in a total goals series, then went on to the National Championship game, where they lost to LSSU (let's hope THAT doesn't continue :^) Also, someone mentioned that part of the problem was the 45-minute ride to Potsdam from Gouverneur, where the Badgers stayed. This was, according to the article, due to a Can-Am girls hockey tournament being held in Canton that weekend. Jeremy Hall Clarkson University "LET'S GO TECH!! DROWN THE LAKERS!!!"
