Well, this will probably come as a shock to many of you, but the Clarkson Golden Knights have advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals by beating the Badgers of Wisconsin 5-4 tonight before a sellout crowd at Walker Arena. The Badgers opened the scoring in the first, but Clarkson came back to take a 2-1 lead before the end of the first. In the second, the Badgers score three straight before the Knights scored again with :16 left in the second to make it 4-3 going in to the third. In the third period, the Knights were able to outscore the Badgers 2-0, to give them the win 5-4, much to the delight of most of the crowd. Yes, that's right, we eliminated the defending national champions in two games, which no one (except Ted Weiler) thought we would do. The Knights now get to face Lake Superiorin the 1/4finals (some reward). By the way, I know I don't get to see many western teams, but I have to say that Wisconsin is one of the dirtiest teams I have ever seen! They take more cheap shots than any other team I know. And, now I know what you people mean about Sean Hill. The "Kill #6" chant was heard many a time this weekend. One more question: the ref was Shegos and the linesman were J. Jones and Melanson. What league(s) are they from? Whoops. One more thing: I heard that Alaska-Anchorage knocked BC out of the tournament tonight, winning 3-1. Is this true?
