About Jay's ECAC wrapup: If the ECAC gets only one bid (Clarkson) and the HE gets 3, then the committee will probably put the independent team in the east. But who will get the sixth seed? Are there really 7 Western teams that deserve to get into the NCAAs? I think SLU does have a chance at a bid (5th or sixth seed east). Their overall record is comparable to Providence (for those of you who seem to think that HE will get four). Of course, Cornell AD Laing Kennedy, a member of the selection committee, said that Cornell will almost definitely get a bid. I'm not sure they deserve it. Oh well. Guess we'll wait until late tonight to find out. And about the "suspect goal" for Clarkson: Les Kuntar made the initial save, but it bounced off his stick, hit him in the chest, and bounced into the goal past the goal line before he could glove it. Granted, it wasn't pretty, but defensive mistakes can lose a game just as easily as offensive success can win it. I too was hoping that Clarkson would score again, but I know SLU really wanted that championship (they weren't even supposed to get past Cornell) in a year that they were picked to finish *fifth*. In actuality, the only reason they were third was due to ECAC tiebreaker (they tied for second with Cornell in terms of points). They, in my opinion, do deserve to get a bid.
