I've been away, too, but can summarize the games.

Western Michigan...6 Brown...3

Score by periods was 2-1, same in each.
Shots:
Western 10-9-10 = 29
Brown 7-10-9 = 26

My recollection was a pretty even game, Brown scored first but
Western was ahead by the end of the period and Brown couldn't
catch up.

Maine...8 Clarkson...4

Score by periods: Shots Goaltenders
Maine 0-4-4 = 8 6-15-14 = 35 Garth Snow (26/30)
Clarkson 0-2-2 = 4 10-8-12 = 30 Jason Currie (26/33)
                                           Chris Rogles (1/1)

Clarkson beat itself by penalties, as Western Michigan had the night before.
First period was scoreless as was first six minutes of second. Maine scored
and then three more times within two minutes, at least two of them on power
plays. It was then that Rogles came in to give Currie a breather.

Two fast skating teams but they spent a lot of time holding each other
and hitting into the boards.

I saw two hip checks over the weekend - first of the year! Jean Ives Roy
made one on Friday, real, classic throw the hip in order to check a player
off the puck. Nice!

I'd echo the compliments Wayne and Steve noted for the Brown
goalie on Friday: he played a fine game and deserved game honors.
