When Minnesota played at North Dakota last season (or the season before) someone threw a live chicken on the ice. Now, they are fond of hurling animals rinkward in Grand Forks, but this was somewhat unusual. -- Erik Not that unusual. In addition to the traditional gophers and seives, a live chicken made it out on the ice in '72. (Disappointing, too. It "froze" instead of wreaking havoc, but it did react appropriately when the refs grabbed it -- leaving them a nice little present that they had to shovel.) (Doesn't do much for the game, though.
