There is a proposed change to the bylaws which has been approved by the executive board and requires a vote by the membership at the January Business Meeting. As a reminder, the bylaws state membership must be notified of any proposed bylaws changes no less than 15 and no more than 45 days prior to the business meeting. Below is the original language and the new language for the proposed changes:

Original Language for Article VIII, Section 1:
Section 1
There shall be seven (7) standing committees - Nominations and Elections (Art. V, Sect. 5, a+b), Conference, Public Relations, Alumni, Development, Membership, and Government Relations.

New Language for Article VIII, Section 1:

Section 1
There shall be nine (9) standing committees - Nominations and Elections (Art. V, Sect. 5, a+b), Conference, Public Relations, Alumni, Development, Membership, Government Relations, Technology, and State Initiatives.

We will vote on these proposed changes at the January Business Meeting.  There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion at the business meeting prior to the vote.
