Good afternoon everyone-

I'm writing on behalf of our Alumni Awards committee with an entreaty for your Alumni Achiever, Rising Star and Lifelong Learner award nominations! With a long history of success supporting first gen, limited income students to & through a college degree, I know our programs have many alumni deserving of our recognition. I think it's fair to say that the awards banquet at the conference is always a highlight, and to be able to recognize a former student we've supported through challenges and celebrated their wins with is a special honor. 

As of today, our committee has received only one nomination, so they are extending the deadline to December 1. I would like to pose a challenge to EACH PROGRAM to nominate one alumni before the deadline. That would give the committee an amazing bit of work to do! PLEASE take a moment to talk with your teams and identify one former student who you know is worthy of this recognition and submit a nomination before the extended deadline. 

This is incredibly important for our alumni, but it is also a way to celebrate that our programs work. On the form, it is also possible to nominate someone to represent TRIO by telling their story at Policy Seminar in DC in March. Nominees for Achiever and Rising Star may also be put forward for this opportunity.​
