*What is happening?* At 6AM on Wednesday May 18th, NM will start requesting that you change your password if you have not changed it in the last year. As a first step to bring NM closer to current security best practices, we are making changes to NM to request you change your password if it has not been changed in more than a year. For now NM will not require you to change it, but will constantly display a message requesting you do so. *How long will it take?* The change will take only a few minutes. *Why is this necessary?* For security reasons we need to ensure that we store password hashes that are not using weak, deprecated hashing algorithms. We do not store passwords, but only cryptographic hashes of passwords, So the only way for us to generate new stronger hashes is to require that passwords are updated. What happens if the work is not successful? We will back out the change to NM.
