Good Morning Everyone, Yesterday afternoon the State and local Government Committee voted out on LD 1687 "ought to pass as amended" by a unanimous bipartisan vote! The Republican caucus was concerned about the additional positions required by the bill and asked for an amendment to the bill that would require the Department Administration and Financial Services to review the States GIS infrastructure in collaboration with other state agencies to determine if there are more efficient ways of providing state GIS services. We are hopeful that this vote will help provide encouragement to the full legislature to approve the Governor's budget request for the same positions and data acquisition funding. If that fails this bill will serve as platform to continue engagement in the political process to obtain funding for the GEoLibrary! Thank you to everyone who has engaged with their legislators in this process ! The struggle continues! Stay tuned for further developments!
