The Gray Public Library, located in the charming and growing town of Gray, Maine, is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Head of Circulation. The position oversees all aspects of the circulation of materials at the Gray Public Library, including supervision of Circulation Assistants, ensuring that users and visitors to the Gray Public Library have a welcoming, high-quality, and fulfilling experience, performing and supervising regular tasks, overseeing Minerva and inter-library lending, and engaging in collection development / collection maintenance. The successful candidate will strive to make the Gray Public Library an important and relevant voice in Gray, and in the larger Maine library community. The position is open due to an internal promotion. The ideal applicant will have previous work in a library setting working with the public, is familiar with III products (namely Sierra), has a demonstrated track record of management and leadership, and has a passion for the transformative power of a public library. Gray is centrally located between the urban centers of Portland and Lewiston / Auburn and is also the gateway to the Lakes Region. Gray is growing town, but also one that is dedicated to maintaining its small-town charm. The Gray Library is in the Village Center, just minutes from the I-95. With the Town's emphasis on the revitalization of the Village Center in its current Comprehensive Plan, the Library is a central hub of the community.
