Good Morning All!!
Thank you to all who have contacted their senators and Representatives! If you haven't done that yet please do ASAP!
This was in the Bangor Daily News this morning:
The Republican Minority leader is reported to be saying his party wants to keep spending down "His goal is to hold spending around $9.9 billion"
It is important that they do not use the GEoLibrary Budget lines to help make that happen!
While you are calling or writing your legislators Send a brief request to the Appropriations Committee via the Committee clerk requesting that they provide funding for the GeoLibrary budget line items on pages A29 and A30!
Committee Chairs are :
Senator Rotundo is from the Lewiston
Representative Sachs is from Freeport
Also on the committee are:
If any of these individuals represent your area it is very important that they hear from YOU!
Senator Richard Bennett :
[log in to unmask] from Oxford county has had some experience regarding GIS services in the past also sits on the committee. If you are his constituent or have had dealings with him in the past please contact him and ask for his support of these budget items!!
Emails and letters are good but an in person meet is best if you can manage it!
FINALLY please copy the clerk on your correspondence with any of the above legislators!
Please do it NOW ! just in case the Democrats decide to go rogue and pass the budget with just a majority on March 31st!
