TGIF Everyone,

This is just a heads up that Budget talks are starting in Augusta!
This was in the Bangor Daily News today
Key hearings on Mills' budget proposal are now scheduled.

◉ The Legislature's budget committee has begun voting on Mills' small and non-controversial short-term spending proposal and will continue that work on Friday and into next week. Meetings on the two-year budget start Tuesday.

◉ The governor's budget commissioner, Kirsten Figueroa, appears before the committee to give an overview on that day. The first public hearings on it kick off on Wednesday and are expected to last into early March. The schedule.

◉ Early in the process, keep your eye on property tax programs being discussed by the budget panel on Wednesday. Lawmakers will also get a look at the University of Maine System budget next Friday.

Start getting your testimony ready! I think the GeoLibrary budget items will be reviewed early in the process.

We will provide more information next week. In the mean time get the contact information ready for your Senators and Representative!

Have a great weekend everyone, stay warm!
