For all those who wish to apply for E-Rate on their own for Funding Year 2023 (meaning filing for E-Rate for products and services other than those that Networkmaine provides its members):

The FY2023 Form 470 is now available in the EPC portal and can be filed as soon as you are ready to launch your FY2023 E-Rate process. There are no changes to the form from last year but for your convenience, a step by step guide is attached.

What is it?

The Form 470 is the first form in the filing sequence and opens the competitive bidding process to identify the E-Rate eligible products and services you need so that potential service providers can review those requests and submit bids.

Who has to file it?

Entities that apply for any E-Rate not arranged through Networkmaine must file a Form 470:
  • if they want to request E-Rate funding for new products or services for FY2023 (July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024)
  • if they have a contract for E-Rate funded services that will expire on or before the Funding Year begins on July 1, 2023

When does it have to be filed?

The last day to file a Form 470 is 28 days before the closing of the Form 471 filing window. The exact FY2023 Form 470 deadline will remain unknown until the FY2023 Form 471 filing window dates are announced, but there is no harm in getting a jump start on FY2023 and filing your Form 470 early!
