The passing of Jerry Ellis deeply saddened me especially after dealing with the loss of my husband Jerry Herlihy. Jerry and Jerry worked together for many years before Herlihy turned the program over to Ellis and Jerry Ellis did an excellent job carrying on the legacy of the TRIO program. I met Jerry Ellis while a student in college and he helped me immensely in my pursuit of my degree especially with my imposter syndrome. He for one really understood what that was really about. His calm, his patience, his ability to listen, his ability to lead will all be sorely missed in the TRIO world and we can not thank him enough for all of the lives he touched both professionally, personally and as colleagues. If we could think of something to do in his honor to commemorate his work and legacy we should probably do something.
