A very happy National School Librarians Day to all our school librarians! When I was in high school, I was having a really rough day one day, and when I went into the school library, I told the librarian that I was so frustrated that I felt like I needed to throw something, and may I throw a paperback. [I promise you that throwing things is not typical of my behavior!] She merely said, "Just don't hit my plant." She had a plant in a pot on a shelf near her desk, so I turned in completely the opposite direction of the plant and threw my paperback. Somehow it managed to hook around a full 180 degrees and squarely hit her plant, behind me. We just looked at each other. This is one of myriad reasons I never played softball. Thank you so much to Mrs. Aylward for her patience with me, and to all of you in school libraries. Lisa M.
