Nice! Minnesota should do the same about their signings this spring. Nothing like hemorrhaging talent. Such is the price of great recruiting!

Subject: Michigan Hockey News Items

For anyone who's interested, I'm forwarding links to two new releases from Michigan Hockey.

The first, consistent with the new echo in Yost Arena, offers descriptions of the eight Michigan players who have thus far signed pro contracts since the NCAA Semifinal loss to Denver, including four previously covered in an earlier release on Frozen Four Weekend.

The second is a summary of Red Berenson's hockey life.

(2) Michigan Man: The Red Berenson Story
MailScanner has detected a possible fraud attempt from "nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com" claiming to be https://mgoblue.com/watch/?Archive=30260&type=Archive

I remember several Friday afternoons, as a high school senior, when I rushed to the bus station after class to catch a Greyhound for the 100-mile ride to Ann Arbor.  The attraction was watching Red Berenson in his senior season.  I remember when the Frozen Four had a consolation game.  I remember that Berenson rushed from there to Boston so, the night after his final college game, he could score the goal for Montreal that set the NHL team record for most goals in a season.  This video story opens with that scene.

I've always been delighted Red chose Michigan and that his emphasis as a coach was on players who wanted a good education.  I was always impressed that the farm kid from Saskatchewan returned to get his MBA in the NHL off-season, an MBA he never used in the business world. He's my idea of what athletic coaches should aim to be.

Then I saw this video's title, I assumed it focused on Michigan hockey during Red's periods of involvement.  But I just watched it and, surprise, it's about Red Berenson, the person, who can't be described without involving hockey.  This is a great story, well presented in 53 minutes.  I hope others enjoy it.
