The Waldoboro Public Library is accepting applications for the position of Library Assistant. This is a regular year-round, part-time position for an average of 32 hours per week (alternating weeks of 30 and 34 hours). Responsibilities include circulation, reference, assisting the public with obtaining materials and on the public computers, handling interlibrary loans, ordering, processing and cataloging new materials. and special projects as assigned. Library experience is strongly preferred. Computer experience is required. Work schedule includes weekday, evening and Saturday hours. Must enjoy working with people of all ages and walks of life. A degree in Library Science is desired or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities preferred. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation, and sick days. Pay is $15.40 to $16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
