Dear TRIO Community,
We all know, either from our own direct experiences, or the experiences of our students, that getting a good response rate is critical to conducting sound research. TRIO needs your help. We are currently facilitating two national studies that will provide valuable data for our community and stakeholders.
Spearheaded by the Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education: The National TRIO COVID-19 Study and the TRIO 2019/2020 Compensation Survey seek to assist in identifying and supporting best practices within TRIO and improving educational opportunities and outcomes for low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities. Both studies will remain anonymous and will remain open until January 15, 2022. See below for the links to both national studies:
NATIONAL TRIO COVID-19 SURVEY
The Pell Institute partnered with McNair scholars to examine the challenges TRIO students and staff experienced during COVID-19. If you are a TRIO staff member or student and would like to complete the National TRIO COVID-19 Study, please select your designated survey below:

TRIO 2019/2020 COMPENSATION SURVEY
The second national study involves ONLY TRIO staff and aims to assess the levels at which institutions and organizations compensate college outreach professionals. The survey collects and compares compensation data by program, position, institutional division, institutional type, geographical location, demographic characteristics, educational level, length of employment, and employment status. The last TRIO Compensation survey administered was in 2016-2017. It is critical that we update this data so you can use it to help facilitate compensation conversations at your agency or institution. To complete the survey, please click here or scan the QR code.
If you have any questions about these national studies, please contact Dr. Terry Vaughan III, the Associate Director at the Pell Institute ([log in to unmask]).
