Dear Geospatial Advocate,
I am reaching out to you to obtain your assessment of leaf conditions in MidCoast Maine for LiDAR acquisition this fall. The attached images and KMZ files show the remaining 2021 LiDAR Collection – this is for Quality Level 2 data and is tidally coordinated where applicable (over 2500 square miles!). This year the State of Maine is teaming with USGS through their Broad Area Announcement (BAA) program, and they are is asking us for leaf conditions to share with the acquisition contractor (Quantum Spatial/NV5). We all understand that leaf pop is imminent, so we are collecting information from key areas. Would you please update me with your assessment of your area and provide images if possible? I am specifically requesting: location and images of leaf-out and/or leaf-off.
This fall 2021 collect will complete the area collected previously in spring 2021 (coastal DownEast Maine). Your information will help us determine when is the best time to deploy aircraft for LiDAR acquisition. Please see attached images for this year’s program (green was collected in spring 2021, red is to be collected this fall; the other image is a screenshot from Google Earth).
Please send the information directly to me. Note that I am always happy to discuss the GeoLibrary’s geospatial acquisitions, feel free to reach out to me at the numbers below. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your assistance.
Thank you in advance for this information!
