Dear MEEOA Colleagues,

Warm wishes during the holiday season!

The Talent Search grant process has opened. Keep in mind your colleagues
who are working on these grants over the next several weeks, perhaps with
encouraging notes, offers to read, and positive thoughts.

If you are writing and would like support, please reach out to us in MEEOA
or to COE.

Also, if you have not yet, remember to register for our MEEOA 2021
Conference, starting in a little over a week. We look forward to seeing
many of you then!
Mary

Development of Skills that Prepare Students to be Informed, Thoughtful, and
Productive Individuals and Citizen (up to 2 points).

Projects that are designed to support instruction in time management, job
seeking, personal organization, public and interpersonal communication, or
other practical skills needed for successful career outcomes.

*Competitive Preference Priority 2:* Promoting Science, Technology,
Engineering, or Math (STEM) Education, with a particular focus on Computer
Science (up to 2 points).

Projects designed to improve student achievement or other educational
outcomes in one or more of the following areas: Science, technology,
engineering, math, or computer science (as defined in this notice). These
projects must address the following priority area: Increasing access to
STEM coursework, including computer science, and hands-on learning
opportunities, such as through expanded course offerings, dual enrollment,

high-quality online coursework, or other innovative delivery mechanisms.

*Competitive Preference Priority 3:*Applications that Demonstrate a
Rationale (up to 2 points).

Under this priority, an applicant proposes a project that demonstrates a
rationale (as defined in 34 CFR 77.1).

*Demonstrates a rationale* means a key project component included in the
project’s logic model is informed by research or evaluation findings that
suggest the project component is likely to improve relevant outcomes.

*Logic model* (also referred to as a theory of action) means a framework

active ‘‘ingredients’’ that are hypothesized to be critical to achieving
the relevant outcomes) and describes the theoretical and operational
