Greetings-

Our yearbook advisor has come up with an idea to have teachers digitally sign the yearbook and write notes to the class of 2020.  We’ll come up with a page (8.5x11-ish) and they’ll put one in every (senior?) yearbook when they arrive.

So thinking this through…. I’m pondering 1)Messages and 2) Authentic signatures.

  1. If I was just asking for a note from teachers (Congrats class of 2020! Mrs. McKay) – I’d make a Google Doc, have people leave a note, and then try and make it look appealing at the end.

  1. Sometimes teachers just leave a signature… Using Notability, Google Draw, and/or a stylus or Apple Pencil, I could have teachers send in their signature either as all they leave or to go with their note (see #1).

  1. Some of our ed techs only have iPads, so I need to make sure the idea is both accessible on the MacBooks and iPads.

  1. I thought about Google Draw, but it only shows a person one page and people could feel like they’re running out of room fast.

  1. People could sign a piece of paper and take a photo, but then I’d have to do some graphics design to take out the peripheral stuff so it’s not taking up too much space of this page (or two).  I’d like to avoid having to do a lot of graphic editing work.

I’d like to make this as simple, but also as personal as possible.

Thoughts? Ideas?

~Esther
