In order to minimize the school closures across the US due to the COVID19, the FCC announced today that the Form 471 filing window has been extended by an additional 35 days. This applies to all applicants, regardless of whether or not their own particular school has been closed.

The FY2020 Form 471 Window deadline has changed from Wednesday, March 25, 2020 to Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at 11:59 PM EDT.

This is certainly a blessing, however, I would strongly encourage you to proceed as normal. If you are at all able to get your Form 471 filed by the original deadline, or at least as soon as possible, it would behoove you to do so. Applications will still be reviewed and funded as they are submitted, so you might as well get your application in the queue while things remain relatively calm as we know not what the next few weeks might bring.
