I am writing to inform you about some upcoming changes to the MEEOA website. At our board meetings this past year, we have been discussing moving the MEEOA website to a third-party commercial hosting company (similar to what we did with the NEOA website last summer, for those of you that were around for that project). The MEEOA website is currently hosted on a computer in my office, and I am the only one with administrative access to the site. This is not ideal, as it makes it difficult to recruit help for various things, and it would also be a problem if at some point I were unable to work on the site for any reason, as nobody else would have access to the site. Additionally, the web server is due for a hardware and software upgrade, and those upgrades will cause us to lose some features that we're currently using.

To solve these problems, I am going to migrate the website to a third-party hosting company. This process will require a few days of downtime. The MEEOA listserv is unaffected - the mailing list will continue to be hosted through the University of Maine's Listserv system, and the MEEOA mailing list will be available while the website is down. I plan to take down the MEEOA website for the migration on Wednesday, February 26th at 9:00 AM, and I expect to have it back up and running by Friday, February 29th. I will post a reminder before the downtime begins, and another message after the site is up and running again. If there are any unexpected delays along the way, I will keep you posted about that as well. I appreciate your patience while we make these important changes to our website, to better serve our members and our students.
