Who will be your
2020 County Teacher of the Year?
Testimonials from some of the current County Teachers of the Year to the 2020 nominees:
"If I could do it again, I would absolutely do it again. Fear not the crown and sash; you won't get one. Instead, know that you are a representative and voice of the amazing work of teachers across the state."
"Humbled and honored were the first two words that came to mind when I first received notification of my CTOY nomination. I chose to answer "yes" to my nomination because taking advantage of every opportunity to grow as a person, teacher, and leader invigorates what I do in the classroom and in my school. Answering "yes" has afforded more opportunities for professional development and collaboration with teachers outside my school unit, not only for me, but for other teachers in my district. It has been the grandest of adventures! Choose yes...the adventure awaits you, too!"
"As a 2019 County Teacher of the Year and Semi-Finalist of the 2020 Maine Teacher of the Year process, I encourage you to "opt in" to this amazing journey. The process encourages opportunities to lead and learn, it builds connections with a network of extraordinary teachers in Maine who elevate our profession, and allows for meaningful reflection on your teaching craft."
"This is a life-changing process of self-reflection, relationship building, and professional development. As you take all factors into consideration, please remember that you are a teacher, and because of you, someone smiled today, someone made a connection, someone became more confident, and someone felt loved so I want to say thank you."
It starts with YOUR nomination!
Thank you!
