*What is happening?*

On Sunday, November 24th, between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m, the UMS Shibboleth SSO
server system will experience a short outage while improved service
monitoring is configured on the server.

For most users the testing will be non-disruptive, some users may be unable
to log in to enterprise applications while switching to the standby server.

During this work, there may be issues logging into Box, Zoom, and other
SAML or InCommon services.

*Access from MyCampus Portal to Mainestreet will be impaired.** Users
needing to access MaineStreet should navigate directly to the MaineStreet
login page.*

This maintenance work will not impact access to Blackboard, GMail, or other
services using the CAS protocol for single sign-on.

*Why is it necessary?*

The update will allow the system to be effectively monitored for
performance issues and to assure the robustness of the shibboleth SSO
environment under peak loads.
