UMaine Student Accessibility Services invites you to be part of a thriving team dedicated to inclusion and making the University fully accessible to all students. The Accommodations Coordinator at the University of Maine will play a vital role in assisting student with disabilities to receive accommodations and services so that they are able to participate fully at the University. The Accommodations Coordinator will meet with students who have varying disabilities including ADHD, physical, psychiatric, health related or learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum, evaluate disability documentation, determine needed academic accommodations and guide students through the accommodation process. The Accommodations Coordinator will collaborate with faculty, and staff to arrange and coordinate accommodations and support students with disabilities. The incumbent will provide expertise and training to members of the university with regards to disability issues, serve on appropriate committees and represent Student Accessibility Services at campus programs including new student orientation and open house. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work successfully with a diverse population. The Accommodations Coordinator is expected to be student-centered, task oriented, have the ability to problem solve, work autonomously as well as with a team, and be proficient with computers and technology.
