For some reason, many people are fixated on black holes at the moment.
We, not being above shameless exploitation, want to take this opportunity to advertise our
"Black Holes and Time Warps" Astronomy a la Carte Night Session class on
Monday, April 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.
How do black holes form?
How do we see them?
Do they die?
How do they distort space time?
Are they passageways to other Universes?
What would happen if one drew close to Earth? (Hint: We'd all forget about Brexit.)
Are we really all trapped on Earth because of dents in space-time?
How large would Earth have to be to become a black hole and wouldn't that be cool?
(Oh, absolutely....)
What is an "Event Horizon?"
What is a "Singularity?"
If I tossed my least favorite relative toward a black hole, what would happen to him and her?
(Hint: Let's just say that if you did that, they probably wouldn't like you, either.)
Was our Universe created by a black hole that formed in another Universe? (Not sure about this one, but that would be a WHOLE lot better than the Universe being just a holographic simulation.)
Will you be discussing the mathematical models of black holes? (Only if I'm sick and God agrees to be my fill in.)
