Happy Thursday Joe!

November 14, 2017 article
<https://www.nsgic.org/is-the-future-of-naip-aerial-photography-in-trouble->
from the FGDC's group meeting
<https://www.fgdc.gov/organization/coordination-group/meeting-minutes/2017/november/cg-meeting-november-2017>,
and in particular regarding Mootz's bits
<https://www.fgdc.gov/organization/coordination-group/meeting-minutes/2017/november/naip-2019-cg-20171114.pdf>.
The idea of using any taxpayer funding to pay for NAIP imagery that
could become no longer free and available in the public domain is just
one more stink molecule on the pile.

Even if NAIP's future is shaky, always being able to finding past NAIP
imagery at MEGIS seems shakier.

Looking for NAIP imagery at:
https://www1.maine.gov/geolib/imgdiscovery/site/index.html
didn't offer /any/ NAIP imagery in the results around Hallowell.

/None/ of the 20 results included NAIP imagery.

And then trying here
<https://maine.maps.arcgis.com/apps/PublicGallery/index.html?appid=4c6edca1282d4c60a827c373287d9dc6>:
https://maine.maps.arcgis.com/apps/PublicGallery/index.html?appid=4c6edca1282d4c60a827c373287d9dc6
no luck either.

Fortunately, the /*Maine Orthoimagery Viewer*/ is still available at:
http://mapserver.maine.gov/basemap/index.html
although, it's been uncertain for how much longer.
