Everyone,
Tomorrow will be an important step in the effort to have a general fund bond issue put before the voters of Maine as LD 318, An Act To Authorize a General Fund Bond Issue to Support Economic Development with High-Resolution Geospatial Data.
If approved by the Legislature this would place on the ballot for Maine voters to consider, a bond request for funds to pay for continued investment in geospatial data such as orthoimagery, lidar, land cover, bathymetry, and parcel mapping data. If approved
the funds would be used when matching funding from other partners can also be secured through cooperative funding arrangements. Subscribers to this listserve know all too well how this information can be used to Maine’s benefit. Now is our chance to explain
it to others. If you can appear in person to offer verbal testimony that will be an important contribution, but also please consider submitting written testimony to the Appropriations Committee who will be conducting tomorrow’s hearing. Here is a link explaining
the testimonial process, whether written or in person:

and how each of us can participate.
Thank you for your continued support as we continue to advance geospatial data use and availability in Maine.
