We still have room in our winter term and spring semester online and hybrid
GIS courses at UMaine at Machias! Please pass the word! All courses are
offered online or in blended formats, and they include student software
licenses and focus on real-world applications and projects. Upcoming courses
 include...

Winter Term:

GIS 204 Intro to GPS (1cr, online Dec 26th and ending with one weekend
on-campus day in Machias on Jan 13th): Hands-on operation of GPS receivers,
field data gathering, data processing, and error management.

Spring Semester:


   - GIS 230 GIS I (4cr, online with three Saturday sessions):
   Comprehensive, hands-on introduction to GIS.


   - GIS 330 GIS II (4cr, choose between all online or on-campus, prereq:
   GIS I or equivalent): Comprehensive, hands-on introduction to GIS
   analysis with focus on raster analysis, model building, and spatial
   analysis. Available all-online or on-campus.


   - GIS 312 Municipal Applications of GIS (3cr, all online, prereq: GIS I
   or equivalent): Learn important skills for municipal or regional
   government or economic development, including editing parcel data,
   designing comprehensive planning and zoning maps, performing suitability
   analysis, and using low- or no-cost GIS software and web-based applications.
