Greetings Orono schools community,

Every year at this time the board conducts an annual performance review of our superintendent, Meredith Higgins. By policy we seek input from all stakeholder groups in our schools including the teachers, staff, parents and community (known as a 360º survey). The opinions we receive are instrumental in the board assessing strengths and areas needing improvement and setting growth goals for the coming year. Because there are only five of us we are only in limited places; your feedback is very important and useful to us.

The survey should only take 5-15 minutes and we need it completed by November 22 (i.e. any time before Thanksgiving).

A few quick points:
1) This survey applies only to Superintendent Higgins who started July 1, 2017 (i.e. this summer or roughly 4 months ago). Please limit your answers to this time period.
2) We recognize you may not have opinions or knowledge on all of the questions. Other than the first question (what stakeholder role you have), all questions are optional. Simply don't click on/answer them (unfortunately the tool does not allow us to provide an NA or Don't Know option)
3) We very much appreciate any text you add to your answers in addition to the number score. The examples and feedback are extremely helpful.
4) This survey is completely anonymous. You do not have to be logged into Google to take the survey (you can do it from an incognito browser if you want). The survey form does NOT capture names, emails, IP addresses or any other identifying information - just the time and your answers. The only way to lose anonymity is based on what you say in the comments - but even then the board members are the only five people who will see those answers and we are bound by law to keep them confidential. We will remove anything that is even slightly identifying before sharing feedback with Ms Higgins. We do appreciate your filling the survey out online though as it greatly aids compiling the answers.

PS - other opportunities for input:
1) We plan to hold our first public input sessions on facilities planning in January. If you do one thing with the schools this year, please do this! We are developing a five year facilities plan and we want to make sure we hear what you think!
2) The board conducts a survey on its own performance in late January.  We value any feedback you give and will strive to improve based on it.
3) We will hold a similar 360 survey in May for the principals. Again your feedback is very useful.
4) The annual town meeting to vote on the budget is tentatively set for May 15th. Your turn out and vote are crucial. The board will be discussing the budget at every meeting (twice a month) during February, March and April. We will also place draft budget documents on the website (http://www.rsu26.org) under the "School Board" tab during those months.
5) The annual budget ballot is June 12th.
