Subject: U.S. Census Bureau - Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) trainings for the state
of Maine
In February, the Census Bureau mailed out letters to municipal and county governments detailing the upcoming Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA) operation. The New York
Regional Office (Geography Department) is currently offering informational workshops at venues around the state of Maine that are open to government officials, regional planners, municipal clerks, assessors, GIS professionals and others who at the request
of their municipality may have involvement with the program.
In most instances, the LUCA presentation will be followed by a demonstration workshop in which attendees may learn how Census statistical data are accessed from the American Factfinder
website.
As of this correspondence the following meetings will be held on these dates/places
May 15, 2017 : 1:30pm - Greater Portland Career Center - Portland, ME
May 16, 2017 : 10:00am - Maine State Library - Augusta, ME
May 17, 2017 : 2:30pm - Bangor Tri-County Career Center - Bangor, ME
Additionally LUCA Webinars will be held on these dates and you can register at the below links for these WebEx presentations.
