You will want to complete the Connectivity Questions and the Contracts Module (if you have a contract) in the appropriate places in EPC before beginning your Form 471. While you can do so when you get to these sections of your form, the system will force you to leave your form in progress and navigate to a different section within your EPC profile. It is much easier to complete them up front and not get lost!
There may be circumstances where you do not have to make changes to these areas.
Connectivity Questions - If you filed a Form 471 in FY2016:
- Your connectivity responses will remain in EPC and display in your FY2017 form
- Unless you want to change your responses, you do not need to complete them again
- If FY2017 is the first year you are filing a Form 471 in EPC:
- You must complete these questions before you can submit your form (it is easier if you do this before beginning your form)
Contracts Module - If you are signing a new contract for FY2017:
- You
must add a record for it in the Contracts Module before you can
reference the contract in your form (it is easier if you do this
before beginning your form)
- If you have an existing multi-year contract in place for which you created a contract record in FY2016 and the contract extends through FY2017:
- You do not need to add another record
- Simply refer to the existing saved contract record in your FY2017 form
- Be sure to enter the correct FY2017 service start date (probably 7/1/2017) when prompted in the form
- If you have an existing multi-year contract in place for which you created a contract record in FY2016 and the contract extends through FY2017 and it was amended (for example if you exercised a voluntary extension):
- The same guidance applies - simply refer to the existing saved contract record in your FY2017 form
- Be
sure to enter the correct FY2017 service start date (probably 7/1/2017)
and if necessary update the date the contract expires when prompted in
the form
- Be prepared to provide the amendment to your PIA reviewer
