Maine Sea Grant invites proposals for Program Development Grants

Deadline April 1st, 2017

Description:
Maine Sea Grant will fund grants to Maine universities and research institutions for scientific research projects in the marine and coastal environment. Particular focus will be given to projects researching the areas of healthy coastal ecosystems, resilient communities, safe and sustainable seafood, preparing for a changing climate, environmental literacy, and workforce development.

Awards are generally for small research projects and proof-of-concept with the intent of seeding an idea for later development into larger funding proposals. Other credible uses of these funds include extension, education, communications, travel, graduate student support, and workshops or conferences.

Award Amount: Typical awards are  $1,000 - $5,000. Projects exceeding $5,000 should be discussed with Maine Sea Grant personnel prior to submission.
