Part Time Fisheries Heritage Technician Needed

Integrated Statistics is looking for an outreach technician to assist the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) in support of the Maine Atlantic Salmon Museum. The Maine Atlantic Salmon Museum, founded in 2014, is dedicated to recording and preserving the rich history and traditions of Atlantic salmon angling in Maine and to promoting the conservation of Maine salmon rivers. The Museum seeks to collect, interpret and display all materials related to salmon and other sea-run species. Atlantic salmon are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act and as such, NOAA Fisheries is one of two agencies charged with protecting and recovering them.

 

The technician will research and develop content for one or two temporary, portable exhibits, to be displayed in various local libraries, museums, historical societies, and visitor centers, and also to be presented online.  The technician will be based either at the University of Maine or at the NOAA Fisheries Maine Field Station.

The following qualifications are sought for this position:

The position will be part-time (20 hours/wk) with an expected duration of 6 months. The rate of pay will be $20-22, depending on qualifications and experience.
