Hello all,

We celebrated the end of our summer reading programs this week with our “Race to Read” party up at the OHS track.  About 80 young readers tested their skill in our bookish events:  Bookend Hurdles, Book Balance Race Walk, Book Baton Relay, Book Discus, and others.  3 Watermelons, cheese sticks, crackers and many gallons of water were quickly devoured, and many coupons for free books went home with our guests.  It was a flurry of fun, many thanks to our wonderful volunteers who made it possible!

You can still drop in with your Independent Reading Challenges to claim your prizes and enter the drawing for the grand prizes through the end of August.

It will be a quiet week next week, there will be no programs and no children’s story times on Thursday as we prepare for our fall activities.  Enjoy the last days of summer, and we will see you soon!

Please visit our website for information on upcoming programs and to sign up for notifications of future events.
