Web Developer/IT Admin Support

Job Description

Blue Marble Geographics is seeking an entry level Web Developer and IT Support person to assist current Web Developer/IT Administrator. This is an opportunity to work within a progressive, small team-oriented software company in Maine. Successful candidates will have the ability to interact effectively with others and work as a team. They will also need to be able to think and work independently. This position requires experience with web page development using PHP, MySQL, and HTML. This position also requires experience with IT support and systems. The position will require assisting with IT administrative tasks such as managing our internal and external servers, firewalls, backup systems, security systems and more. Other tasks will include setting up computers for new employees, supporting staff with IT issues and training and supporting our externally hosted servers. The position will report directly to our current Web Developer/IT Manager. Training as necessary will be provided. A good candidate will have web development experience and the aptitude to learn the IT administrative tasks. It is a great opportunity to start your career off right.

General Requirements

Required familiarity with web development with PHP, MySQL and HTML. Experience with Windows servers and systems. Experience managing servers, trouble shooting IT issues, supporting internal staff and other technical support work in some combination is required. Experience with Linux administration is a plus. Some travel may be required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required. Computer science, Mathematics, Technical areas preferred, but other degrees considered based on experience.
