It's hard to believe, but our winter sessions are wrapping up. Spring is right around the corner and it is time to register for spring martial arts classes. Our new session begins at the end of March and registration is under way. Teen and Adult sessions start on Monday, March 21. Youth Martial Arts sessions begin Wednesday, March 23. As always everyone is welcome - no experience required.

It is an important part of our mission to offer quality martial arts programming, at an affordable rate, at convenient times and locations. Our fees average only $7.50 per class. Classes are held either at the Keith Anderson Community House (19 Bennoch Road next to the Post Office) or at Asa C. Adams School (5 Goodridge Drive behind the Fire Station). Youth Martial Arts programming is held on Wednesday afternoons following school dismissal. Teen and adult programming is held on Monday evenings. We strive to welcome all participants.

To register for classes, log on to the Orono Parks and Rec. activities page (https://www.oronorec.com/info/activities/) and select the appropriate program. Youth Martial Arts programs are scheduled by school grade level. Students in grades six and above (middle school, high school and adult students) should register using the link under the heading Adult & Senior Programming.

If you encounter any registration problems, please contact Orono Parks and Rec or contact me directly. If your son or daughter would like participate in our Youth martial Arts program, but the upfront registration fee is unmanageable contact me privately. No student will be turned away due to financial hardship.

I'm looking forward to continuing Shotokan karate programming in Orono with our returning students and with new students, too!

Best,

Geoff Wingard
