Good afternoon all!
I thought you might find this interesting!
Publishing a Service from ArcMap
When you publish a service directly from ArcMap to AGOL, you can control the number of feature which are drawn when you publish the services. Use these steps:
1.
Share Map as Service
2.
Select My Hosted Service
3.
Click on Parameter option in Left Hand pane of Service Editor window
4.
Set the Display Feature Number option to desired amount
5.
Continue configuring other service options as desired
6.
Publish Service
Service is already published in AGOL
Once you have published a service in AGOL it is possible to edit the service definition parameters. This requires a bit of skill and understanding of how feature services work but you can do it. Just follow the directions in the PDF referenced
in this link -
http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/files/2014/10/How-to-Update-Hosted-Feature-Service-Schemas1.pdf.
I hope these tips prove useful. Safe and Happy Holidays to everyone.
