Lightning talks are only two days away – have you registered yet? This is a free event thanks to sponsorship from Woolpert and Sebago Technics, but is limited to the first 50 registrants.

You can register through our website at http://www.megug.org/ or by using the link below.-

Ready to give a Lightning Talk a try? We still have room for a few more speakers to share their projects with a GIS component in a 5 minute Lightning Talk (see below for Lightning talk template). It’s a great way to share your new GIS mobile or web app, natural resources or forestry project or how you used Lidar data – anything with a spatial twist. Interested speakers should contact Janelle at [log in to unmask]

I look forward to seeing everyone at 4:30 on November 5 at Joyce's Restaurant in Hallowell!

Lightning Talk PPT Template

You get 20 slides and five minutes to get your message across (slides will auto-advance every 15 seconds, duplicating slides is allowed if you need more than 15 seconds per slide, but there may be no more than 20 slides in total). This format was inspired by Ignite events (http://igniteshow.com/) and there are some nice resources to help you figure out how to make the most of five minutes (http://www.speakerconfessions.com/2009/06/how-to-give-a-great-ignite-talk/).
