OSCAr has attained 501c status!
This means we now can apply for grants and give receipts for tax exempt donations (hint, hint), which we hope will translate into an enhanced ability to infuse much-needed funds into our visual/fine and performing arts programs at Asa Adams, OMS, and OHS. Thank you to Mary Bird, Terrie Hennessy, and other founding members of OSCAr for setting this process in motion!
What does OSCAr support?
The more than 75% percent of our students in grades k-12 who participate in the annual Orono schools Art Festival, Asa Adams-OMS-OHS band, chorus, and orchestra programs; OMS & OHS drama productions; and OHS Speech & Debate team via program support and scholarships.
Upcoming Arts in the Schools Calendar
Orono Arts Café, Nov. 13—performer sign up opens at 630, performances begin at 7pm. Special preview performances from the OHS High School “Bee” production and door prize of tickets to the show! All profits go toward our scholarship funds.
25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee, Nov. 19, 20 & 21 at 7 pm in the OHS cafetorium….tickets on sale now, get them before it’s sold out!
