Have a HAPPY Friday everyone.

Thank you! to everyone who came by our booth at the MMA Conference. It was great to hear how beneficial the Orthoimagery has been for the communities who have participated in the 2012 – 2016 imagery acquisition program. If you think your community will be interested in participating in the 2017 – 2022 program please let me know. The success of the program depends upon participation of state agencies, counties and communities. It is very important that your local community and county leadership understands how the imagery program has benefitted your community.

Funding for the program is dependent upon a strong partnership between state, county and community offices.

The mission for those of you working with this data is to make sure your selectmen, councilors, and county commissioners are informed regarding how beneficial the data has been for you. They will want to know what the tangible benefit of participating in this program is. Did it save the town money; did you discover taxable property; did it save staff time in doing your job; did it help serve your economic development program. Any information you have that justifies your participation in the program needs to be passed on to your local community and county leadership.

It would be great if you would share your success stories with me also. Your stories may encourage counties that have not participated to become part of the next program.

This is a fun article that came in the Café this morning.
